About the event

Want to do our Burlesque Instructors course?

Find you learn better with an in person approach?

Want to be accountable with your time so that you make that commitment?

Want to be able to interact with people and get a hands on approach rather than just completing it online?

Want to avoid of the technology faff of the online course submissions?

Then this face to face course is perfect as it combines the in depth learning of our online course with the fun and detailed interaction of a face to face training session so you can put things into practice.

Pros:

  • No faffing around with video recordings, G-Drives and Technology unlike our online course as we do all that for you.
  • No having to get volunteers for your assessment because we will teach each other or I will get some volunteers in.
  • No having to pay out for Hall Hire we pay that ourselves.
  • Can complete your theory training before OR after the course.
  • Get direct access to me and by taking the practical approach you are more likely to pass your assessment.
  • Spend time with people who are in the same boat as you, share the same fears, questions, and hopes as you.
  • Plus it's a much more fun and exciting experience.

Cons:

  • Must attend BOTH practical days to pass practical
  • Must have learnt your warm up, Cool Down AND the Lady Marmalade Routines we provide you with by the time we meet – please note if you are teaching your own routine as part of the assessment that’s ok too but you need to have your routine polished off and ready to teach by the time we meet.
  • Your stuck with me all weekend hahaha

This course is broken down into 2 sections

Section 1 which is the practical work & assessment

Section 2 which is the theory training

You must attend both session in full otherwise it will not be considered as completed.

Over the course of our practical sessions we will:

  • All Teach a warm up
  • All Teach a cool down stretch
  • All Teach the routine
  • Review health and safety in the classroom
  • All Conduct some Q&A's
  • Review the learning criteria
  • Appreciate the variety of situations in a classroom and ways to be adaptable and think on your feet whilst you continue to grow your experience.
  • Complete your teaching Practical

Your classroom practical days with us allow us to see where your teaching skills are at currently even if you are a compelte beginner this is fine.

We will then fine tune your teaching skills and REALLY get you thinking about what it takes to be a good instructor especially focusing on the health and safety aspects and being adaptable and being able to think on your feet. How to help you work out the best way to help people who need alternatives and require additional support in class.

This could be things from alternative stretches for muscle groups to helping them understand more complex steps in a routine.

Please note we will NOT be using these days to teach you the assessment routine, the warm up or the cool down.

You WILL need to already knows these off by heart before you get to us because you will go straight into teaching them from the start so if you haven't prepared it will be extremely obvious and you may be asked to leave the course.

We will know the difference between a bit of nerves and poor preparation.
